BigHaat has appointed Jitesh Shah as its Chief Operating Officer. The appointment is in line with the platform’s goal to increase agro-technology adoption and expand its presence from 10 million farmers to the next milestone.
She has over 15 years of experience in sales, customer management and operations. Previously, Shah served as its chief revenue officer at Cropin Technology. Prior to his role in Kropin, he was with InterCall for a decade-long tenure (later acquired by West Unified Communications) where he held various roles and was one of the board members for Business in India.
Bighat strives to improve services and become a household name among all farmers in India, says Satish Nukala, CEO and co-founder, Bighat. “Shah’s experience and skills will help us reach our goals faster. His industry knowledge will help us to conduct future business, expand our portfolio as well as show new ways in the market, ”he added.
BigHaat is an agri-tech start-up that provides end-to-end solutions for the farming community. In addition, BigHaat has an agri-store with quality inputs such as seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, nutrients and farm equipment. With a fund of Rs 100 crore from JM Financial India Trust II, BigHaat claims to have served 10 million farmers across India. According to the company, BigHaat is transforming the agricultural value chain from pre-harvest to post-harvest data, technology and crop science.
