WhatsApp will soon stop supporting older iOS versions, namely, iOS 10, iOS 11, iPhone 5, and iPhone 5C next month. Just as other apps have changed their security features and applied new changes or updates to enhance users’ safety and security, WhatsApp has announced that it will withdraw support from older versions of the previous iPhones operating iOS for security concerns.
For iPhone users who still use the latest iOS version, some of the features of WhatsApp will no longer be available. Features that will stop working may be emoji or paid, but there is no official update about it. WhatsApp also does this to keep up to date with the Android ecosystem.
WhatsApp Tracker, WABetaInfo reports that from October 24, 2022, WhatsApp will stop working completely for the above mentioned iOS users. So, users have five months to upgrade their iOS. IOS 12 and above will be the minimum support base to fully enjoy the features of WhatsApp.
According to the device, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C are not compatible with iOS 12 and so these users will not be able to use WhatsApp in the end. With this step, the meta-backed app seeks to upgrade chat security and other app features.
